Staying true to their brand #Polaroid put a lot of emphasis on their Zero Ink #cameras at #CES. They had several models, were a big hit, & I must say super fun to play with. Polaroids do hold a special place in my heart. As a child my mom had a One Step (same #camera that the #IG logo is modeled after). As kids, every X-MAS she would take a pic of my brother & I in our onesies holding our new toy. As a matter of fact, he & I use to fight over who would get to shake the pic as it was developing. It was a simpler time as we were both amazed with the developing process. There were many different #zeroink cameras. The newest being the #Z2300 ($199), which is basically a 10MP camera with a printer built in. However, my favorite is the older & cheaper #Pic300 ($70) pictured here. Plus, the great thing about a #low-res camera is that no PS needed, as its already in soft focus 😜 #ces2013 #tech #news #justinday #justindayphoto
There were not any big announcements concerning DSLR’s from any of the major camera manufactures at this years #CES, since all new models were released prior to Christmas. This allowed one quirky little camera to steal the show. About the size of a deck of cards, the #Powershot #N is a new innovative release from #Canon that is basically unlike any other #camera on the market right now. This is somewhat of a coincidence, because after my experiences traveling this holiday season I recently made an announcement to all my friends on Facebook about how I thought that the iPhone was the best camera for travel. The reason being is that the iPhone is lightweight, offers editing, & wi-fi connectivity. Well sure enough, Canon comes out with a lightweight camera, that offers wi-fi connectivity, and built in filters. The Powershot N is somewhat of a confusing camera to use at first, because it really doesn’t have any buttons. All controls are done through the metal ring around the lens and a tilt-able touchscreen. I personally like the tilt-able screen, because it opens all kinds of odd shooting angles. I’d like to use it for waist level shooting, as done with the old TLR cameras of years past. The lens and sensor are certainly more capable than anything that any of the camera phones offer, but $300 seems a lot for a camera that doesn’t even shoot RAW. Plus, you still have to carry two devices but since IG just kills your phone battery - carrying two devices might not be a bad thing. Nevertheless, I’m happy to see that a major camera manufacture such as Canon isn’t afraid to innovate & think outside the box. #news #tech #pointandshoot #justinday #justindayphoto
